In the room of 200, he asked, "Who would like this $20 bill?" Hands started going up. He said, "I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this. He proceeded to crumple up the $20 dollar bill. He then asked, "Who still wants...... it......?" Still the hands were up in the air. Well, he replied, "What if I do<span class="text_exposed_show"> this?" And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe. He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty. "Now, who still wants it?" Still the hands went into the air. My friends, we have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $20. Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. We feel as though we are worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value. Dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased, you are still priceless to those who DO LOVE you. The worth of our lives comes not in what we do or who we know, but by WHO WE ARE. You are special- Don't EVER forget it."</span></span></h6>DnD_Sagahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13176536887943067067noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1923609503859407254.post-25798292344346274262010-12-05T10:06:00.003-07:002010-12-05T10:19:23.067-07:00"Would it spoil some vast eternal plan, If I were a were a wealthy man?""Yes Tevye, it might."<br /><br />"Let us give thanks for what we are and for the circumstances God has given us for our personal journey through mortality." - Dallin H. I've been having such a bad week.<br />I was so okay with coming back to work from Thanksgiving and then I had such a horrible week. I keep running the stupid cart into the back of my legs and people keep putting things where they don't go, and the new girl is so lazy and she hates me and is so snobby and rude I can't stand it.<br />So I came home today and had a complete meltdown... my poor hubby, he puts up with me and my meltdowns and does nothing but try to make me feel better.<br />This one was particularly bad so after all was said and done and he was getting ready to go home teaching. This is an amazing story of strength and the beauty within that any woman feeling down on herself should watch. I absolutely loved this video.<br /><object style="background-image: url("http://i4.ytimg.com/vi/KHDvxPjsm8E/hqdefault.jpg");" height="295" width="480"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/KHDvxPjsm8E&hl=en_US&fs=1"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/KHDvxPjsm8E&hl=en_US&fs=1" allowscriptaccess="never" allowfullscreen="true" wmode="transparent" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" height="295" width="480"></embed></object>DnD_Sagahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13176536887943067067noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1923609503859407254.post-48545953219522969252010-05-08T13:38:00.005-07:002010-05-08T14:03:34.522-07:00Recently...<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh61HNMMolLuElmajxH5IR0mBqMGV3OXvnpdbwERvADnN1yeWdijF0DkE3wyK7FDF3fUcUyoKwSg-pe7UJIAis5kD2fAzRfSHre_sNU0MDWsNNcp5y5rKBZGd4t0s98KU8uoorw0Icoboc/s1600/P4120557.JPG"><br /></a><br />I thought it was about time to write about whats been going on with us lately...<br /><br />Monday, I start a new job! I've been kinda looking for a new job for a while. Where I've been working... the working environment just wasn't what i wanted. No one felt appreciated for all of the hard work they put in, not to mention almost everyone put in overtime to do what they needed to get done, and they were not paid. It was just a very frustrating place to work. Thursday was my last day and I cried so hard. I didn't really want to leave, the people were amazing and I loved what I was doing (when I had work that is) but there is only so long you can rearrange the deck chairs on the titanic. Another bigger, better, and safer ship pulled up and I had to hop on.<br /><br />So now I'm going to be working with my friend Lexi! Her husband (Sam) was roommates with my husband (Dave) before we met/married them. We started hanging out and luckily we all get along!! Me and Sam really hit it off with our stories that no one else is excited about but us and our musicality, and Lexi and Dave like the same dumb sci-fi movies from the early 90's (Krull, The Dark Crystal, Xena.... ) so we get along great!<br /><br />And of course I couldn't be more happy that she got me a job!! At my (now) old office, there were (at max) 120 people working there, and Not ONE of them were LDS... I'm sorta used to it, I mean my high school was like 3000 kids and there were 15 of us... total. But having someone else there would've been nice. Now I have Lexi!<br /><br />In my new job I'm going to be scanning documents into their computer system, just making sure everything is signed in the right places and stuff like that. The pay is less than my previous job, but they have FREE (yep you read that right) benefits for BOTH of us!!<br /><br />Now if you're crazy and you don't think that is amazing, let me explain. My husband is like the injury magnet. He has been amazing and been practically wrapping himself in bubble wrap since he hasn't had health insurance but he has some injuries that need to be taken care of, plus an itchy back that kinda keeps him from doing much. So we are beyond thrilled!<br /><br />Dave is about to start summer semester which I'm excited about. Just brings us closer and closer to him having a degree! He's still leaning towards using the Air Force to go into the medical field and his brother has also gotten him interested in after 10 years going into the Foreign Service... I don't really care, I'll go anywhere as long as he has a stable job. :)<br /><br />Oh! I recently got my hair cut! Dave has kinda been asking me for a while to get it cut short, and Lexi had this great guy she knew that came with rave reviews (really knew what he was doing). And before, I've always just gone with something cheap, but recently, the lesson of "You Get What You Pay For" has really sunk in. So I went for it. And the cut wasn't nearly as expensive as I expected it to be. $35 (and that was WITH a $10 tip - she spent an hour and a half on my hair, and it came out amazing, she deserved it). Ok okay I'll stop talking here are pictures:<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2LJQ6Rk_1S-HX0uEx-SC9yS6e-OgNkbFXKpuPw59xUhxmOn1nuqsg7ZoYZIz1RsdENi2Z_57era0niCYIIRtFCz5reA6LFkMEFLUcTvrmvUgsw0ZVB9Sn8pDDteAnmSrSjmHZkJgMk1U/s1600/P5020580.JPG"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2LJQ6Rk_1S-HX0uEx-SC9yS6e-OgNkbFXKpuPw59xUhxmOn1nuqsg7ZoYZIz1RsdENi2Z_57era0niCYIIRtFCz5reA6LFkMEFLUcTvrmvUgsw0ZVB9Sn8pDDteAnmSrSjmHZkJgMk1U/s320/P5020580.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5469006585486654450" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMfMy9W4SPCVwfJ5iMPEpnO0MfOWdN1l2budQ0xcxGhb19uPKM040PbDhw7IVJZrphOOD_vuHyPgwjb2FvfsfmigB8VrGWhJMhr4gh8Aa0l3Im9tVvvvgwFn8s2b2dobHdVl7Ovqx3HfU/s1600/P5020581.JPG"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMfMy9W4SPCVwfJ5iMPEpnO0MfOWdN1l2budQ0xcxGhb19uPKM040PbDhw7IVJZrphOOD_vuHyPgwjb2FvfsfmigB8VrGWhJMhr4gh8Aa0l3Im9tVvvvgwFn8s2b2dobHdVl7Ovqx3HfU/s320/P5020581.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5469006960234933122" border="0" /></a><br /><br />Dave also wanted me to include what happens when we fall asleep on the couch... It was Sunday appropriate, but that's besides the fact. It was, "Taking Chance".<br /><br /><img alt="http://www.filmas.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/jsccps.jpg" src="http://www.filmas.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/jsccps.jpg" /><br /><br />It was a story of a Lt. Col., a volunteer military escort officer, accompanying the body of a 19-year-old Marine back to his hometown to be laid to rest.<br /><br />This movie, was so touching, I don't think I've ever cried this much because of a movie. I still tear up, just thinking about it. The utter respect and honor that is shown towards our fallen service members, by not only their fellow military men, but general civilians, is amazing. This movie did take place in 2004, but I hope and pray that same respect I saw depicted in this movie, is still shown today.<br /><br />One of my favorite scenes is when the casket is being loaded onto the very first plane, there are two little kids up in the airport watching what is happening below, as the Lt. Col. salutes as the casket travels up into the plane... it was just so... there are no words.<br /><br />All I can say is that I hope you go and see this movie and show it to your children. So many of America's problems these days lie in the forgotten virtue of respect. Respect for the service others give so that we might live free. Respect for what great freedom we have. Respect for the hard work that is done all around us so that we may have a better life than the ones who came before.<br /><br />I've always considered myself patriotic, but this movie.... it further hardened my resolve to at least bring up my children so that they might realize what great blessings we, as Americans, are blessed with.DnD_Sagahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13176536887943067067noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1923609503859407254.post-48201306812852492912009-12-20T14:56:00.006-07:002009-12-20T15:22:31.249-07:00O Holy Night<span style="color: rgb(102, 51, 0);">"O Holy Night" is my favorite Christmas song. </span><br /><br /><span style="color: rgb(102, 51, 0);">It wasn't always that way however. </span><br /><br /><span style="color: rgb(102, 51, 0);">When I was younger there was a woman in my ward, Sister Halula who ALWAYS sang that song for Christmas. Its such a pure song. Its beautiful and peaceful and reminds us of the Savior, his birth and the Real reason we are celebrating this time of year. I then showed my mom how to do it, but I haven't done it since, and so if my instructions are a little off, feel free to mention how it should be done. But my tree turned out pretty great so, I'm not worried too much about my methods.<br /><br />Any way, to start, this is what you need.<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNmcaDrUpWjON7EgKrpsts6zpzmEu0tedKhzrIJPtxmp0_iRMWNhVyZ_6ZM2XB1ioV5z55dPs-c0XcZA5WmIPbGLdgIGCgRRQmdzcGpqC6zxRPXE-RZtthBftmHWVN2tVwFiFhDc05W5M/s1600-h/PC060527.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 330px; height: 440px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNmcaDrUpWjON7EgKrpsts6zpzmEu0tedKhzrIJPtxmp0_iRMWNhVyZ_6ZM2XB1ioV5z55dPs-c0XcZA5WmIPbGLdgIGCgRRQmdzcGpqC6zxRPXE-RZtthBftmHWVN2tVwFiFhDc05W5M/s320/PC060527.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5412357479322740498" border="0" /></a><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">6 Wire hangers</span> - It is Crucial that they are either Exactly alike or very similar in size... I learned that the hard way and had to jimmy rig a solution to my lopsided tree. When I made these the first time, they had wire hangers at the Dollar Tree in perfect bunches of 6. When I went looking the other night none were found. Luckily I raided my closet. Another source is dry cleaners. Just tear out that paper middle and you're good to go. <span style="font-weight: bold;">(Free!)</span><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Approx 30 feet of green garland - Dollar Tree again! </span>I went with two different types this year and while it was a pain it was worth it. The coiled stuff in the right hand corner is from the dollar store the stuff on the left, from Walmart. <span style="font-weight: bold;"> </span>In the past I've just used tinsel and thats a fun way to make an unusual tree that is still cute. I went with traditional this year.<span style="font-weight: bold;"> (Total: $4)</span><br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Wire - </span>I used green floral wire, the thickest I could find. You'll see why in a bit. <span style="font-weight: bold;">($2 at JoAnn's)</span><br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">A box of 100 lights - (Walmart, $2)</span><br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">And of course, my handy dandy wire cutters...okay....scissors, don't tell dave...</span><br /><br /><br />First things first, group the hangers into groups of two and arrange them like so:<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiN1psDiPDColaGXOaYNS7GekqJQK4ugy0mb571-ZZQGc4rtEcPvF4ck_YsAM4cm4cjx1ROFEIQWXf1onmrwGGaw08HuBaEWHEaL3sOJ16GQL5F7Ef8_xdAq5sb011Bh5b13ZPd8ur-JzY/s1600-h/PC060530.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiN1psDiPDColaGXOaYNS7GekqJQK4ugy0mb571-ZZQGc4rtEcPvF4ck_YsAM4cm4cjx1ROFEIQWXf1onmrwGGaw08HuBaEWHEaL3sOJ16GQL5F7Ef8_xdAq5sb011Bh5b13ZPd8ur-JzY/s320/PC060530.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5412357490200371362" border="0" /></a><br />Attach the hooks at the tops to the middle of the bottoms with green wire. Start at by securing some at the top and just start winding you way down, occasionally wrapping the wire around one of the hangers for more strength and support.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtc6uWn87rJX7Jo6KrIHBGhMaiCDmzEnj_lESYW3fRCLz5MOblxVsNnqf9pcXGuUGIHR06-KA8GAZnpQW9BrJFfAn-uoZGVbhU43jV-zEy3mJdyMfFYhDuGOprLd19Q3FtdyR8UOw_MQA/s1600-h/PC060540.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtc6uWn87rJX7Jo6KrIHBGhMaiCDmzEnj_lESYW3fRCLz5MOblxVsNnqf9pcXGuUGIHR06-KA8GAZnpQW9BrJFfAn-uoZGVbhU43jV-zEy3mJdyMfFYhDuGOprLd19Q3FtdyR8UOw_MQA/s320/PC060540.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5412360147388866482" border="0" /></a>This provides a base for the lights and garland so they don't just slip off. I searched high and low for a job and just when it seemed that we weren't going to make another month with out asking for help, I got a job.<br /><br />I started as the afternoon receptionist for a loss mitigation company called Loan Resolution Corporation. What we do is work with large mortgage companies and we facilitate their short sales.<br />Short Sales are, by Wiki definition "A sale of <a style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Real_estate" title="Real estate">real estate</a><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"> in which the sale proceeds fall short of the balance owed on the property's </span><a style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loan" title="Loan">loan</a><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">.</span><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Short_sale_%28real_estate%29#cite_note-nolo-0"><span></span><span></span></a><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"> It often occurs when a </span><a style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borrower" title="Borrower" class="mw-redirect">borrower</a><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"> cannot pay the </span><a style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mortgage_loan" title="Mortgage loan">mortgage loan</a><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"> on their property, but the </span><a style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lender" title="Lender" class="mw-redirect">lender</a><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"> decides that selling the property at a moderate loss is better than pressing the current debtor. Both parties consent to the short sale process, because it allows them to avoid </span><a style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foreclosure" title="Foreclosure">foreclosure</a><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">, which involves hefty fees for the bank and poorer </span><a style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Credit_report" title="Credit report" class="mw-redirect">credit report</a><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"> outcomes for the borrower."<br /><br />Because we facilitate these for home owners all over the United States we are under a contract to have someone at the office to answer the phones from 5:30am to 5:30pm. that is WAY to long for one person to work and so there are two shifts, 5:30am-noon and 11:00am to 5:30pm with an hour of overlap. Fortunately/Unfortunately I was chosen for the afternoon shift. Fortunately because thats REALLY early to wake up, especially since I have a 30-45 min commute but unfortunately because not only did the afternoon shift stick me in evening traffic, but by the time I got home, it felt like I'd been away all day.<br /><br />Then, after about a month of working there I was offered a chance to apply for a full-time position that they had just created. So I went for it, and was offered the position. I make really decent money and now that I'm someone completely trained, I'm busy most of the time. What I do is just mostly double checking that a request for an appraisal or payoff or a credit report is valid so we don't waste company money. I also make sure that when any of those things comes back, that it gets to the right person in a timely manner.<br /><br />Dave is just finishing up his semester. He took Latin (to help him out with all of those fun medical terms) and psychology. And other then that, he's been learning how to be a house husband now that I'm the bread winner. He enjoys having a sugar mama :) For now anyway.<br /><br />We both have callings in the ward, I'm a Beehive advisor and he's in working with the Varsity Scouts. Mutual is on Wednesday nights and that is when he has Latin so he hasn't been able to go but Latin officially ended this last week so he gets to go this week.<br />The ward is so great and the Bishop definitely understands that everyone needs a calling to be involved and so there are 3 advisors for the Beehives, plus the 2nd Councilor in the YW presidency and there are only like 6 girls (which is big for beehives but theres a leader for almost every one of them). But one of the leaders, (whos husband just happens to be the current Varsity Scout advisor) is working on buying a house in time for their baby to be born so, we're kind of the fill ins for when they leave.<br /><br />So yeah, thats what we've been up to lately. :)<br /></span>DnD_Sagahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13176536887943067067noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1923609503859407254.post-17461098207063319542009-11-10T21:43:00.003-07:002009-11-10T21:44:40.638-07:00BloggingOkay, okay, okay. I am definitely the worst blogger ever. I knew I was going to have a problem with this when I started this blog, but its such a great way to keep in touch with people... Mostly i just check all my friends and various crafting/decorating sites and get on with my night.<br /><br />But anyway, I really need to blog about all of our current adventures and stuff like that. Unfortunatly this weekend won't be super optimal but i'll see what i can do.<br /><br />I promise to at least blog about something this Saturday!DnD_Sagahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13176536887943067067noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1923609503859407254.post-26962681205616025622009-08-23T18:14:00.003-07:002009-08-23T18:38:52.116-07:00A GREAT book<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwnnOANSZ5QZs5z9jZsTiyEJWwwklB_ts7XmoInkMO9PuHyad4K3g_kAsBPVj4FV6CYQQzSdj9BuBMauWo0lzHmLc2VMf7JnnjWGFwOM5-DdA0sBEIxZYY7-yjmEkvl_Uo-34z3yKLTJM/s1600-h/novelist.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwnnOANSZ5QZs5z9jZsTiyEJWwwklB_ts7XmoInkMO9PuHyad4K3g_kAsBPVj4FV6CYQQzSdj9BuBMauWo0lzHmLc2VMf7JnnjWGFwOM5-DdA0sBEIxZYY7-yjmEkvl_Uo-34z3yKLTJM/s320/novelist.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5373332804786297282" border="0" /></a><br />Okay, so I just finished this book and it was so great i just Had to write about it.<br /><br />This book is really two books put into one, centered around one story, sorta. The book starts out with a woman, Jordan, who is not only a 54 year old married woman with a 21 year old son who lives at home, but an established writer as well. She gets hired for a teaching job at a local community college and jumps at the idea. During her first class she is met with awe and respect by all buy one. A boy around her sons age who criticizes her previous books saying they have no personal blood and sweat in them.<br />She heads home in a little bit of a funk over this young mans comments to find her troubled son slumped at the front gate of their home, drunk, again.<br />That night she comes up with an idea to teach her class by writing something she's never written before, an allagory, and also to write something for her son.<br /><br />The book is Christian based, though not LDS, though it could've been written by and LDS author and just generalized in order to get more readers. I can't remember there being a single foul word, and the whole thing is very clean.<br />The allagory that she writes is woven into the book and the story of her and her hardships. Honeslty, I finished it today because it was definitely the kind of book that got me thinking about our Savior and all he has done for us.<br /><br /><img src="file:///C:/Users/Owner/AppData/Local/Temp/moz-screenshot.jpg" alt="" /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikQWcbL1ReaWg4cziqwZRhabKQSMt0Jbfy-EgheuYoAjFNewnD-utZyXOXKRwz4-fDr2ULv06MmlpJRTQn18ruh_qmwiuD3hJqeiQA52HxZ-9gA9q_7x-holAyH86TBwOhcCW4_wIV65Y/s1600-h/christslove.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 238px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikQWcbL1ReaWg4cziqwZRhabKQSMt0Jbfy-EgheuYoAjFNewnD-utZyXOXKRwz4-fDr2ULv06MmlpJRTQn18ruh_qmwiuD3hJqeiQA52HxZ-9gA9q_7x-holAyH86TBwOhcCW4_wIV65Y/s320/christslove.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5373338400994936578" border="0" /></a> I know i didn't give a great book discription so you're just going to have to go and read it yourself. :) Enjoy!DnD_Sagahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13176536887943067067noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1923609503859407254.post-90605388903654945762009-08-15T16:20:00.006-07:002009-08-15T16:42:03.288-07:00Shaving the Beast! Before we left for Tennessee Dave decided he was going to grow out his goatee again, one, because its fun, and two because he wanted to look older and there by get some respect from otherwise very unrespectable people. And both goals were accomplished.<br /><br />Then, after he got a picture of his younger brother Steve's beard growth, Dave decided it was time to just let himself go. ;) So he stopped shaving. I didn't mind because not only was it fun, and definitely less annoying then kisssing fresh stubble, but the bathroom was Much cleaner.<br /><br />So then we came back to AZ and Dave is all set to go to school in a few weeks. He was due for a haircut pretty bad anyway, and so, this time to appear younger then his 24 (almost 25) years he decided to start shaving again. These are picture from that historic moment.<br /><br />This is the full beard and shaggy hair<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgECtlWoziNQjyAh2w4ajbMQ8JApE6G7zQjexFb2vokRDDzooFCAtVqVgN2ts_DW91mIkjNzYdAwBJvqB6AZPGxoGf8Dunix2WCJS_7tA3ihqazmHu71MpPhZeL4pZCLLfBvIQ2TOfeHoo/s1600-h/P8110503.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgECtlWoziNQjyAh2w4ajbMQ8JApE6G7zQjexFb2vokRDDzooFCAtVqVgN2ts_DW91mIkjNzYdAwBJvqB6AZPGxoGf8Dunix2WCJS_7tA3ihqazmHu71MpPhZeL4pZCLLfBvIQ2TOfeHoo/s320/P8110503.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5370336873614721122" border="0" /></a><br />Starting to trim<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdCVgINFGWx_FTCez69NV4I_4UtKsrEvYMA1qkoh9DSp42jqIxMU7xUustrWNwMIrwMNUK992O6SnOiANqU6j_v_LmaKCGuO11liZZQGdDOv9My5nF3tOCWp8sSN1KYdBsPQRBXuqX6wU/s1600-h/P8110504.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdCVgINFGWx_FTCez69NV4I_4UtKsrEvYMA1qkoh9DSp42jqIxMU7xUustrWNwMIrwMNUK992O6SnOiANqU6j_v_LmaKCGuO11liZZQGdDOv9My5nF3tOCWp8sSN1KYdBsPQRBXuqX6wU/s320/P8110504.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5370336879625585234" border="0" /></a><br />Ah yes... the whatever these are called...<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLMYSNBpvVRArOiNTa5rIBJjDz5Db45tVhU6x6ZrSR_iQMuLFQAdiNtu2I1T6L4PKJ68UbuRzIe3iP6NC-uL0GOdBf8SYotWH3YWJEXllP8R44ZD_JEKVWrrzwnRcAvcNYZWxIgr6tipg/s1600-h/P8110505.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLMYSNBpvVRArOiNTa5rIBJjDz5Db45tVhU6x6ZrSR_iQMuLFQAdiNtu2I1T6L4PKJ68UbuRzIe3iP6NC-uL0GOdBf8SYotWH3YWJEXllP8R44ZD_JEKVWrrzwnRcAvcNYZWxIgr6tipg/s320/P8110505.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5370336887303879762" border="0" /></a><br />The handle bars with a little more umph at the bottom...<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_otdFW7ApSG0DeVjuO5XLNfYQmKzFJ7o4bZPjqA_CpvG9LMZ9Z6EcSNnKq6RTZSiZ7oX2tAtLB28PVu157Y20-4A17Bgyr8_T-yyaOjS9uT_68Afx7djQBHrUz1qJRM9JQpCTEUzPn0I/s1600-h/P8110507.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_otdFW7ApSG0DeVjuO5XLNfYQmKzFJ7o4bZPjqA_CpvG9LMZ9Z6EcSNnKq6RTZSiZ7oX2tAtLB28PVu157Y20-4A17Bgyr8_T-yyaOjS9uT_68Afx7djQBHrUz1qJRM9JQpCTEUzPn0I/s320/P8110507.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5370336901549566338" border="0" /></a><br />Another handlebar view, this time with a little more side burn<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiy7ddtPnNC0r-dYMuUncN8G94qXRnf5m8gOpT4sXcWKkHIY997xc06SYsPw76wdscBun2_qUukbp3X14JgxBGEUiFhGDnAJmoyM6wiO20G1tH4MUQZwi1zWTufj1hB8jFWnGxNHBMQQNE/s1600-h/P8110506.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiy7ddtPnNC0r-dYMuUncN8G94qXRnf5m8gOpT4sXcWKkHIY997xc06SYsPw76wdscBun2_qUukbp3X14JgxBGEUiFhGDnAJmoyM6wiO20G1tH4MUQZwi1zWTufj1hB8jFWnGxNHBMQQNE/s320/P8110506.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5370336898254316482" border="0" /></a><br />Dave being a Frenchie... Which is great except that our tiny little side of the triplex was a TON messier then I remembered. Plus, we only managed to come home, with more stuff.<br /><br />On our way in, we stopped by Dave's parents house for a quick refresher before heading home. While there my mother-in-law showed me this great packet of information that was compiled by a lady who was on the Church's welfare system for years because she really needed it, and this packet was her way of giving back. It was mostly quick and easy meal and snack ideas, that used all of the available church warehouse resources, but it also had great cleaning tips.<br /><br />There was one tip that I'd never even heard of before (and trust me, my mother knows most of them). So when we got home and had a little down time, I decided to give them a try.<br /><br />Here's the first one :<br /><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div>What you will need:<br />1 lemon or lime (any citrus fruit will work really)<br />a microwave safe bowl<br />water<br />a clean rag<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBZSTAd-41e2kF5nQpgeoLkBDXMRLHNLOe-7y-k43i0bxNG7FUslNzExe1TfYZmTfKJ8gNGwyTdSGjxb-Al24Ou8Pr5uq0jvozhkW4taqS7TOXocrxDiNo3K6SN9oT9bRGlzORqZ3CPhM/s1600-h/2524664983_af041c6bbb.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 210px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBZSTAd-41e2kF5nQpgeoLkBDXMRLHNLOe-7y-k43i0bxNG7FUslNzExe1TfYZmTfKJ8gNGwyTdSGjxb-Al24Ou8Pr5uq0jvozhkW4taqS7TOXocrxDiNo3K6SN9oT9bRGlzORqZ3CPhM/s320/2524664983_af041c6bbb.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5369576509866595554" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Cut a lemon or lime in half then squeeze the juice from both halves into the bowl. Go ahead and toss the juiced halves in the bowl. Fill the bowl with water and place in your microwave. Then microwave cook on high for about 10 minutes -- long enough for the citrus mixture to boil and let off lots of steam. When finished cooking leave the bowl inside the closed microwave for another 10 minutes. Then using a clean rag and the warm (be careful it may still be hot!) citrus water wipe down the bottom, sides, and ceiling of your microwave. Rinse the rag as often as needed. Cooked-on food splatters will easily wipe away and unpleasant odors will be neutralized. Plus it leaves the kitchen and sometimes even the whole house (if you are as lucky as me) smelling like lemon bars. Its just lemon and water and the smell made Dave look up from his game. Needless to say, we'll be doing that a Whole lot more often<br /><br />The next one is for the fridge, which, as my in-laws know, we forgot to clean or leave open. So the black mold moved in. It definitely wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, and after I was done, the mold smell was gone, but the bleach smell wasn't. So I went online and used another lemon for this.<br /><br />1. Slice a lemon into 1/2 inch this pieces and place in a small shallow dish or plate<br /><br />2. Sprinkle 1-2 Tbs of table salt onto lemon pieces<br /><br />3. Sprinkle 2-3 Tbs of baking soda onto lemon pieces<br /><br />The combination of the soda salt and acidity in the lemons will make it sizzle, which is pretty cool. Then you just put it in the fridge, uncovered for 4-6 days.<br /><br />My version has been in the fridge for only a few hours and it already smells less like cleaner.<br /><br />Give it a try!<br /><br />PS - The Return from Tennessee and Shaving the Beast will be coming shortly. :DDnD_Sagahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13176536887943067067noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1923609503859407254.post-69512799620419099572009-07-19T13:36:00.002-07:002009-07-19T13:52:23.520-07:00Church todaySo today at church there was a really great story told in one of the talks! It was also a really great teaching idea so i'm writing it down more for the future then anything else.<br /><br /><br />The speaker told a story about one of his sons when the son was about 17. The speaker and his wife had gone to a ball game and one of their teenage sons had the car. The son was told specifically to give them a call when he got home after work around 7:30.<br />Well him and his wife lost track of time at the ball game and forgot all about the call. But when they got home around 9:30, their son was not home. This was way back when cell phones weren't as common and so he did not have one.<br />They waited and thought well maybe he needed to stay late at work. So they called where he worked. No he's not here, his boss said, and he left right on time. This worried them even more so then they started to call friends. Nope, we don't know where he is, they all said.<br />By this time it was 10:30 so they called the house where his older brother was hanging out that night. Nope, the friend said, they just left and they said they were going to go to Walmart and a few other places before they headed home. This made the parents pretty upset because not only was the closest walmart 20 mins away from their home, but they had an 11 o'clock curfew, and now there was No way they were going to make it home in time.<br />Now knowing where they were the parents hatched a plan to teach their boys a lesson. The husband drove to the walmart with a spare key and found the family car they had loaned the boys for the evening and moved it to the other side of the parking lot behind a huge semi truck. Then he walked back and waited.<br />Sure enough there were his two boys sauntering out of Walmart and then they saw the space where the family car used to be. The father let them freak out for a minute or two and finally walked up to them and dangled the spare keys in front of them.<br />After the releif had hit them, he asked them how they had felt when they saw an empty space where their car once was. Oh dad, they said, it felt like someone had thrown a rock in my stomach, i felt like i was going to puke.<br />Then the teaching moment came. How did you think your mother and i felt sons? he asked. When we had no idea where you were? The same... the sons replied.<br /><br /><br /><br />...anyway, i'm not a very good story teller, but dave and i both decided we're going to do that to our kids if we have to.DnD_Sagahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13176536887943067067noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1923609503859407254.post-87776946531517614002009-07-03T17:55:00.002-07:002009-07-03T17:58:29.852-07:00Annoying Bugs :PSo we are here in Tennessee, and I don't know if Dave has experienced these bugs, in fact he's probably to busy to notice, but I am starting to go insaine.<br /><br />There are these bugs here that make the most annoying screeching noise at dusk from around 7-9:30 and they drive me crazy! It honestly sounds like a car thats trying (and failing) to start, but in a very high pitched way.. almost a screaming way. These things are worse then cicadas people...<br /><br />I googled it, but I didn't get anything back. :P I want to kill them all.DnD_Sagahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13176536887943067067noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1923609503859407254.post-2586343345139864982009-06-19T17:19:00.002-07:002009-06-19T17:28:01.038-07:00Hope You KnowSo today, I wasn't particularly having a bad day, but there had been some bad instances. I was feeling kind of down because I don't feel like I'm really contributing much at work or filling my whole job description, sometimes it seems like all I'm doing is sweeping the hair up of the barber shop floor. I know someone has to, but I wish I could do more sometimes... and Dave was frustrated and I didn't know what to do to help him not be.<br />And I've been jealous because we didn't get to go on a honeymoon, and while we're having an adventure, we aren't going to make near the money we'd hoped, and I was scared for a few days that I was pregnant and I didn't want to be pregnant and not excited about it... Just down...<br /><br />Then today I was just browsing friends blogs and I randomly clicked on a friend of a friends blog (I know its kinda creepy, but it helps me to ignore my troubles if I read about someone elses). And I came across a woman who was on her 4th pregnancy, she'd lost the 3 previous. And this video was on her sight.<br /><br />http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wz41YxNiHEg&eurl=http%3A%2 %2Fcloudsarefarbehindme.blogspot.com%2F&feature=player_embedded<br /><br />Sorry, i couldn't figure out how to add it as a video... But it really struck me. Hopefully it will have the same effect on you as it did on me.DnD_Sagahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13176536887943067067noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1923609503859407254.post-22463086265466950932009-06-16T13:46:00.005-07:002009-06-17T08:41:20.780-07:00Is it bad?<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGmt9sVGQHytf6oWJnQjxtiD0ne-DkTV-JWmWwrV8BOSvGX_p5sspNKXhlMc91a1hTg9lf1FuPjA5MOkBdOiHjj3zZrNOuuvfJ6gttlNmOoacSVWLNQC08Lo1Q-vYwa64NZkp6ouRoqvM/s1600-h/Dream.png"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 144px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGmt9sVGQHytf6oWJnQjxtiD0ne-DkTV-JWmWwrV8BOSvGX_p5sspNKXhlMc91a1hTg9lf1FuPjA5MOkBdOiHjj3zZrNOuuvfJ6gttlNmOoacSVWLNQC08Lo1Q-vYwa64NZkp6ouRoqvM/s320/Dream.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5348321943493730498" border="0" /></a><br />Is it bad that I already wish I could redo my entire wedding day? So we opted for a pretty close and pretty short trail that offered beautiful views. The only this it didn't advertise that we got absolutely free was a nice shower on the way up. :) We get wet. <br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBNRIq6iPkqZhq__R5I5xCIJ97f2JfyjmFW62y6FQzwsfDMYOOfifJK4fUdh6vb1NrwPYY448UwGN_o1RXNpc7xi8r6N_c8NrfeG3puirSO5XH8GArQHxIji1SV5FtkmbM5rjRoJOlnkw/s1600-h/P4250409.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBNRIq6iPkqZhq__R5I5xCIJ97f2JfyjmFW62y6FQzwsfDMYOOfifJK4fUdh6vb1NrwPYY448UwGN_o1RXNpc7xi8r6N_c8NrfeG3puirSO5XH8GArQHxIji1SV5FtkmbM5rjRoJOlnkw/s320/P4250409.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5333234693922437154" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcm4x2YdXGBwyy7YbCKEi5XhnPsZu74C7utoYQJq57xUH05Q_vup9lBLJWFBBV4A8amov3NDLnqsTrgeOdKe6KMpR9laOKIcn5IcRIeYsj99OUf_E6ZFbRecR4fzXgMkIA6UgYDALiZgQ/s1600-h/P4250407.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcm4x2YdXGBwyy7YbCKEi5XhnPsZu74C7utoYQJq57xUH05Q_vup9lBLJWFBBV4A8amov3NDLnqsTrgeOdKe6KMpR9laOKIcn5IcRIeYsj99OUf_E6ZFbRecR4fzXgMkIA6UgYDALiZgQ/s320/P4250407.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5333234694646244626" border="0" /></a>Because it was a shorter trail, it was paved, and very close to all the nearby towns, it was very popular. So Dave looked up a near by park and we went exploring.<br /><br />The Tennessee River runs right through Knoxville and there are a few islands that are almost entirely parks and REALLY nice homes. We went and explored some of the parks. Needless to say, everything is green here.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivwEKbnBrnGNLocdLz2eOl1dNjcaLlfBPVQsivJkuYo6cfDPSlHOrf_0E93YEkLfrPjqkQO_vtosJ9wq5paZSSZf5qyN15Xihi-52BTZpG4DKjJydxxeSOV4rJIQsBBYspPAI_nZ6IYzQ/s1600-h/To+Tenn+Trip+049.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivwEKbnBrnGNLocdLz2eOl1dNjcaLlfBPVQsivJkuYo6cfDPSlHOrf_0E93YEkLfrPjqkQO_vtosJ9wq5paZSSZf5qyN15Xihi-52BTZpG4DKjJydxxeSOV4rJIQsBBYspPAI_nZ6IYzQ/s320/To+Tenn+Trip+049.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5330976578005371954" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZmDq5cnYwsWWNmw7CQ8F4yOC9LF0YohFjgCrz3fTDBcPaTxRVSH9n2_J9XLlUrwCCaNIECKPaoS6Mg1GgF71inHtP7yeFu32FaZ3kuyz5kBO-vXvQty3w9HYKEFbSH7uZxWM6d4ILjro/s1600-h/To+Tenn+Trip+050.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZmDq5cnYwsWWNmw7CQ8F4yOC9LF0YohFjgCrz3fTDBcPaTxRVSH9n2_J9XLlUrwCCaNIECKPaoS6Mg1GgF71inHtP7yeFu32FaZ3kuyz5kBO-vXvQty3w9HYKEFbSH7uZxWM6d4ILjro/s320/To+Tenn+Trip+050.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5330976581698388290" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPn_Yk5-CI_FS_jjnQ9iPMVrgxeWLKNS2m3XwBxElPpFNp7BOJxPtDFMmM4ZfoZsRjeitMW6T41PB_iJ3AtZkgETDkJXl5ojSRkZZvqxYi5vAv3TzL0BzUOjJEFolYiuiv2W-aUy96bHM/s1600-h/To+Tenn+Trip+055.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPn_Yk5-CI_FS_jjnQ9iPMVrgxeWLKNS2m3XwBxElPpFNp7BOJxPtDFMmM4ZfoZsRjeitMW6T41PB_iJ3AtZkgETDkJXl5ojSRkZZvqxYi5vAv3TzL0BzUOjJEFolYiuiv2W-aUy96bHM/s320/To+Tenn+Trip+055.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5330976586294331762" border="0" /></a><div style="text-align: center;">Here's us by the water.<br /><br /><br />We went off on a little overgrown side path to see what we could find, and I was a little freaked out over the possibility of running into poison ivy. Luckily, I had my trusty husband who, having lived in a green places before, protected me very well from the could be dangers (Even if he did scare me once when I was in front, but thats okay).<br /><br /><br />Then on Saturday we were thoroughly bored and done relaxing and on our drive up we'd seen our first real mountains since Arizona on the horizon, so we decided to go and see what trails we could find.<br /><br /><br />We stopped at an information place to get a map and an idea of trails and things like that. And we found out a lot more then we expected to.<br /><br />It turns out that the only way to get to Smokey Mountain National Park was to drive through three tourist towns. And these weren't the typical base of the mountain tourist towns with quaint shops and restaurants that one would expect. Nope, the apartment lady was right when she told us it was like a mini Vegas.<br /><br />This picture is of a hotel where it is Christmas year round. Literally. It may not look like it, but I saw the brochure. Here's the website, I'm not joking.<br />http://www.innatchristmasplace.com/<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOQwXcJtHY1ueevYWe-FPccpE2UKRhs5ee7WCd1wQE9NhdkBMwF4JWoNxuwQ5AJd8l2zfyVmtWe0cOA0LdqhXEIzmrcnGH2E90DiDlywcNiUTlh-FNdVsm1Wye9OT_fpTYJAOE4x42dmE/s1600-h/To+Tenn+Trip+057.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOQwXcJtHY1ueevYWe-FPccpE2UKRhs5ee7WCd1wQE9NhdkBMwF4JWoNxuwQ5AJd8l2zfyVmtWe0cOA0LdqhXEIzmrcnGH2E90DiDlywcNiUTlh-FNdVsm1Wye9OT_fpTYJAOE4x42dmE/s320/To+Tenn+Trip+057.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5330980041340716722" border="0" /></a><br />Here are just a few pictures of some of the things that we saw along our way. Enjoy!<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;">This is us just starting out in Tucson. We had a full tank of gas, a full to bursting Toyota Corolla and of course, Mama Phelps wouldn't let us leave with out a full stomach.</div><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKBeLfu-crtLom1oXL70aYUHCFn3IL0dA6l9w9QY9NEFbcRTYVZPXxRy0egVr7mcXwnFpU31qDGL7jKxnnbRtu8v2TuYyy_R1sB6rzSwqcufvBR4yvcMlBPvwfTmEqTcrIepeL5QpYVAY/s1600-h/To+Tenn+Trip+008.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKBeLfu-crtLom1oXL70aYUHCFn3IL0dA6l9w9QY9NEFbcRTYVZPXxRy0egVr7mcXwnFpU31qDGL7jKxnnbRtu8v2TuYyy_R1sB6rzSwqcufvBR4yvcMlBPvwfTmEqTcrIepeL5QpYVAY/s320/To+Tenn+Trip+008.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5330265346390837570" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;">You can't see this picture very well but lets just say there wasn't much to take pictures of through out the rest of Arizona and New Mexico. But once we hit Texas, there was something we were all kind of looking forward to. The 80 mph speed limits on the free way. :)<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjg8fHuzcGkuS5ssaAh7lp1zvyHQwOfQOAft5G10kBtlkDeOxdXAZ2F3_Ykr4CM4GEmwPA2F-e9zxLcg44TXDuOSSOMoJsAldONGvRDwFDeus2KW8C_o9eZC6BHdjNo9RRWrCse9snoV_g/s1600-h/To+Tenn+Trip+009.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjg8fHuzcGkuS5ssaAh7lp1zvyHQwOfQOAft5G10kBtlkDeOxdXAZ2F3_Ykr4CM4GEmwPA2F-e9zxLcg44TXDuOSSOMoJsAldONGvRDwFDeus2KW8C_o9eZC6BHdjNo9RRWrCse9snoV_g/s320/To+Tenn+Trip+009.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5330266835615264946" border="0" /></a><br />Now Dave and I noticed an interesting phenomenon as we traveled. It all started with the oil wells. First we saw one, and were bummed that a picture didn't get taken. Then we saw a few more and snapped a few pictures. Then, they were all over the place.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigTQRROMuJDfmGUwsm0kE4apv9LWmm2l6PnhOetrQ93Cl1fUh0QgPm6KRxdgILWyB2jmlmE9Lu7BtTi6ac5mj8UvKzrZZh31efq2FcHtB0Mzd0xRwHOVXZp9-dbnTZmSkW827DUFN5Li0/s1600-h/To+Tenn+Trip+010.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigTQRROMuJDfmGUwsm0kE4apv9LWmm2l6PnhOetrQ93Cl1fUh0QgPm6KRxdgILWyB2jmlmE9Lu7BtTi6ac5mj8UvKzrZZh31efq2FcHtB0Mzd0xRwHOVXZp9-dbnTZmSkW827DUFN5Li0/s320/To+Tenn+Trip+010.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5330278860275786994" border="0" /></a><br />And you can't really see very well in this picture, but they really were all over the place. There would be a plowed field, and then smack in the middle of the acre would be an oil well and tons of grass and weeds around it and then the field would continue like nothing happened.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtJZFvuY-qJD8cATkOxGxH8CNciyrm0X0DRMJPvtt-7FHJQx7czRwuxSxKuvQrVUO149LzuLu09dkvTrxxv5KaoM-GzlAb8zzs4bYkh3-lXOAuP7cefAAXB2eUHclnea_jtldhvFrLEpg/s1600-h/To+Tenn+Trip+015.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtJZFvuY-qJD8cATkOxGxH8CNciyrm0X0DRMJPvtt-7FHJQx7czRwuxSxKuvQrVUO149LzuLu09dkvTrxxv5KaoM-GzlAb8zzs4bYkh3-lXOAuP7cefAAXB2eUHclnea_jtldhvFrLEpg/s320/To+Tenn+Trip+015.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5330279699796906562" border="0" /></a><br />Moral of the story is, yes crops are important, but oil makes more money.<br /><br />Then there were the windmills, which I excitedly took pictures of. Then they were everywhere. And yes, those are bugs on the windshield. The smell of oil in the air apparently attracts a lot of them.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQ0sMvt3i1w4iN63dBCjTZoahPzBn9J9ailyk7KhPKl3re9Q2BFEyYhjUKuuEALbuhSP5c8LTybCoSvXn9SadufyPQUPwl1x1DGazkRrs4_ckCShYYLdrWS2FVzbNgzBlhiGTG4X_2i-k/s1600-h/To+Tenn+Trip+013.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQ0sMvt3i1w4iN63dBCjTZoahPzBn9J9ailyk7KhPKl3re9Q2BFEyYhjUKuuEALbuhSP5c8LTybCoSvXn9SadufyPQUPwl1x1DGazkRrs4_ckCShYYLdrWS2FVzbNgzBlhiGTG4X_2i-k/s320/To+Tenn+Trip+013.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5330280544199564434" border="0" /></a><br />This is down town Dallas. There were some funny looking buildings that we kinda got pictures of... Sorry, you can't really see all that well, but trust me, there were. And much to my chagrin, this is the only point in the whole trip where we got lost because I was taking pictures instead of navigating. Luckily my husband is smart and had us back on track in no time.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdC8WXQNKgNrUEsZjIPk4sn697tVMBQL65sQuQQ3tHy4JEHFMoyCug34hqvD56wokVc1-twguGp9UMV2g4TqVTG81kIaQ2W9INZmpbcPbhtD7Z67NDQmpxNMZM_qE_VjF9A6TXSPZvFXk/s1600-h/To+Tenn+Trip+021.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 358px; height: 268px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdC8WXQNKgNrUEsZjIPk4sn697tVMBQL65sQuQQ3tHy4JEHFMoyCug34hqvD56wokVc1-twguGp9UMV2g4TqVTG81kIaQ2W9INZmpbcPbhtD7Z67NDQmpxNMZM_qE_VjF9A6TXSPZvFXk/s320/To+Tenn+Trip+021.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5330281363772975602" border="0" /></a><br />The next few pictures are of a lake just east of Dallas. I watched it come on the map with great anticipation. And I was not disappointed. It was awesome. To see anyway. We didn't really have time to stop. But it was pretty all the same.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgE3O_c0BCaO_GyRczh2aP7avJvm0MO3dn9kDWJqEAJmELanuqRgFX3y37OxPet306ly9oixlzMX_894Ez6Oyl-GZAW1Fwdm5K5EdwaDNEiuwDXPSDpG-nNqI79o9Jz-lWCK7KwqFtEVsI/s1600-h/To+Tenn+Trip+023.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgE3O_c0BCaO_GyRczh2aP7avJvm0MO3dn9kDWJqEAJmELanuqRgFX3y37OxPet306ly9oixlzMX_894Ez6Oyl-GZAW1Fwdm5K5EdwaDNEiuwDXPSDpG-nNqI79o9Jz-lWCK7KwqFtEVsI/s320/To+Tenn+Trip+023.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5330282313016196162" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibBEujZXM9T30KcaeOnd3NJzg9x_U0wYWOX8w_FNyc26qdpZLVZSsPUQyPdYyEbOWeNnDq8mFpVJhLiWyQfKI80uGI9NJHSKaQ9i55EQu78-U8wtlT5ARyCH5YPL1zfINy1r2Ri1DbKRc/s1600-h/To+Tenn+Trip+024.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibBEujZXM9T30KcaeOnd3NJzg9x_U0wYWOX8w_FNyc26qdpZLVZSsPUQyPdYyEbOWeNnDq8mFpVJhLiWyQfKI80uGI9NJHSKaQ9i55EQu78-U8wtlT5ARyCH5YPL1zfINy1r2Ri1DbKRc/s320/To+Tenn+Trip+024.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5330282549706427266" border="0" /></a><br />Then, things started to get a little greener. So here is the sign Dave saw while I was oohing and ahhing over the Mississippi River.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpyzb2lOi9sKqEcqxONP9oM1IaNyCpwELVabM8a0MEEFxDldBaD25fGP9nu8e54P9qR15-nlucvZ6l_9JLsggPC5C1xglMsjUlrAjQK94_TvZ6X0SHz_cD6VGDmQR0-KERIF0FwMmv6to/s1600-h/300_299605.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 300px; height: 203px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpyzb2lOi9sKqEcqxONP9oM1IaNyCpwELVabM8a0MEEFxDldBaD25fGP9nu8e54P9qR15-nlucvZ6l_9JLsggPC5C1xglMsjUlrAjQK94_TvZ6X0SHz_cD6VGDmQR0-KERIF0FwMmv6to/s320/300_299605.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5330535310110683266" border="0" /></a><br />All along our way we saw these beautiful wildflowers along the free way. Unfortunately they don't photograph well out the side window of a vehicle going 80 mph. But just trust me that they were beautiful.<br /><br />Also along the way, were these really pretty white blossomed trees. They would just stick out of all the green like a frost bitten thumb, and it was really pretty. (Not that frost bitten thumbs are pretty, just, these were.) You can kinda see them in the back ground.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKUKbAb29j6CPqPa3rU4vnh5wqsTRmnDbgm8TAd8G91soj_KL0I-hysS8PhgCY2dKHPUspbvzMma5b8Iz8IMIG8vJB3oreRHKzlMDQilH-vKu_Gh2fl02j15KZCVxmjdnjbwYNeDL6ajI/s1600-h/To+Tenn+Trip+043.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKUKbAb29j6CPqPa3rU4vnh5wqsTRmnDbgm8TAd8G91soj_KL0I-hysS8PhgCY2dKHPUspbvzMma5b8Iz8IMIG8vJB3oreRHKzlMDQilH-vKu_Gh2fl02j15KZCVxmjdnjbwYNeDL6ajI/s320/To+Tenn+Trip+043.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5330536677520155442" border="0" /></a><br />And when we got to our apartments, (JUST in time) there was one of these trees right across the way from our apartment.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhI2_J-nsl9S7WYbC_oYPZbDb7TD5WHG7wxmc3VIxQP8Uop1plXCSz7F-cTUv1rr2cd0MTRtC2ucaC3Xl5dmCj3Ci4zGvB6ORE0SCoYsrH0FPkrZiHyOgA1qhmIKE_OLmtpXc1vYO2J0Kk/s1600-h/To+Tenn+Trip+047.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhI2_J-nsl9S7WYbC_oYPZbDb7TD5WHG7wxmc3VIxQP8Uop1plXCSz7F-cTUv1rr2cd0MTRtC2ucaC3Xl5dmCj3Ci4zGvB6ORE0SCoYsrH0FPkrZiHyOgA1qhmIKE_OLmtpXc1vYO2J0Kk/s320/To+Tenn+Trip+047.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5330538629607442402" border="0" /></a>Now, I haven't had time to ask some of the local wild life just what kind of tree it is... but, when I find out, I'll let you know.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">So there you have it folks, that was our trip. Soon I will put up another post regarding our sight seeing trip we took last weekend.<br />We would like to thank our car dealer for the car he supplied us with, it performed very well, our chef, for the fabulous sandwiches we were sent off with, and our travel agent for the great hotels with firm beds for Dave and yummy breakfasts for me. :)<br /></div></div>DnD_Sagahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13176536887943067067noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1923609503859407254.post-56344943318569855122009-04-16T11:42:00.002-07:002009-04-16T12:02:14.131-07:00We're Finally Leaving!Well for those of you who didn't know, Dave and I are going to Knoxville Tennessee over the summer! Why may you ask? Well I shall tell you.<br /><br />So Dave works for a home security alarm company (Lifetime Security) that his older brother and a friend started together before the housing market crashed. Since things are finally picking back up they decided to take the company to Tennessee over the summer for a summer selling program.<br /><br />This means we get to go on a Road Trip! I am literally almost doubling the number of states I've been in by taking this trip. The previous list is Arizona, California, Utah, New Mexico and El Paso (not really Texas in my opinion.) Now the additions are going to be the rest of Texas, Tennessee obviously, and Arkansas. Then we Might, (i'm hoping we'll be able to but probably not) got to Virginia to visit our nieces (we just got a brand new one!) and our nephew. Unfortunatly the probably won't happen because we're both planning on going to school next semester and we've got to drive back.<br /><br />But I am WAY excited! This is a momentous occasion for me because I have never spent more then 2 weeks outside the state of Arizona. So this is a big step. I'm stoked! Another kind of funny thing that we realized is that I have never lived anywhere that didn't start with the letter T. I grew up in Tucson, moved to Thatcher for college, I got married and now live in Tempe, and even when I break out of Arizona, you guessed it, I'm living in 1 of only 2 states that start with the letter T (I'm driving through the other one).<br /><br />We got pictures and a floor plan of where we're going to be staying last night and I have to say... They are adorable!!! I know its kinda hard to see but they're done in English Tudor design! They are adorable!!! I seriously can't wait.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikpjT8TL_NGh6aNUs16MJfr6BH4OSht6ZPu38J4zIZg8XjwLziEL9hjdjN_IpzUB8mTBzpkr_uyqgAL4ADZ0rG5TgVMrJnfBrw0ojH-KF7sM6fZRgHPYLNIVaEzci87Y_CRsV8U5ybJOU/s1600-h/layout.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 514px; height: 248px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikpjT8TL_NGh6aNUs16MJfr6BH4OSht6ZPu38J4zIZg8XjwLziEL9hjdjN_IpzUB8mTBzpkr_uyqgAL4ADZ0rG5TgVMrJnfBrw0ojH-KF7sM6fZRgHPYLNIVaEzci87Y_CRsV8U5ybJOU/s320/layout.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5325365103218197586" border="0" /></a><br />We both kind of joked after seeing them that we won't want to come back. Our apartment now is tiny and doesn't have a washer inside and there is no dryer at all. But these are going to have both in each unit! Our floor plan is below and we're very excited!<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiT2Xii6ZhZB571OlY_-Wn0f8QrvwoS3TsR3tZYxJfns-JkOnJfyVSKZUQqsBcKCPf2xwd5FJ8we76RZ94qkqeqKDYL7OzuyExyWEE7faD-ldfujCiDzi75kOjA41duFuyPm4U1A_6j2P4/s1600-h/fllora.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 300px; height: 267px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiT2Xii6ZhZB571OlY_-Wn0f8QrvwoS3TsR3tZYxJfns-JkOnJfyVSKZUQqsBcKCPf2xwd5FJ8we76RZ94qkqeqKDYL7OzuyExyWEE7faD-ldfujCiDzi75kOjA41duFuyPm4U1A_6j2P4/s320/fllora.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5325365195355890530" border="0" /></a>I've got a job with the company as well. I'm just going to be helping out with office work. I like office work so I'm excited :) We're leaving as soon as our vehicle gets done with its check up in Tucson and we hope to be there the early part of next week! We'll give updates and take lots of pictures on our trip!<br /><br />Have fun baking this summer because we won't be!!!DnD_Sagahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13176536887943067067noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1923609503859407254.post-68908637713348810742009-03-13T16:45:00.007-07:002009-03-13T17:02:45.997-07:00Wedding Pictures!Okay, so I put all of the good ones on facebook, so if you don't have one and you still want to see them, let me know and i'll send you a link. And not THAT kind of sleep where you really don't get any Sleep at all, but seriously, he was down in Tucson taking care of some stuff and I didn't go because I had to work the next morning and :( I missed him.<br /><br />Plus I had 24 different occurrences of freaking myself out thinking someone was going to break in and murder me in my sleep. One or two of which may have been our loverly ghetto back alley neighbors going through the stuff we put out for DI. Yes, half of it WAS gone in the morning. But thats okay, they still benefited from it I guess... just freaked me out a ton and a half is all.<br /><br />Moral of the story is, don't let your husband leave you so early in your marriage, AND if you want things to actually get to DI, don't put them outside. :DDnD_Sagahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13176536887943067067noreply@blogger.com1
